Christmas Day....

Christmas Eve...

On December 23rd, we went to Spartanburg for a quick trip to see Nathan's family. We enjoyed staying at Nana's house. We had a wonderful lunch on December 24th, then we went back to Nana's house for dessert and to open presents. Jon and Kim and Sami made the trip to Spartanburg from Raleigh and we enjoyed spending time with them. Madison also enjoyed the spending time with his cousins. Unfortunately, Emma Kate was sick and Lydia and Emma missed out on lunch. They were able to join us to open presents. Ethan and Katherine loves all of their gifts. We would the time with family and the two wonderful pictures Nana drew of the kids. We made it back to Greensboro just in time to get the kids in bed before Santa arrived.

Ethan lost his 1st tooth!!!!

After a couple of weeks of wiggly his first tooth it finally came out. He has a new one already growing in behind the one one. He was not too motivated to pull out first tooth. He wasn't even motivated to wiggle it until he heard that Eve, his good friend that is only 3 days older than him, lost her first tooth over the weekend. After a lot of advice from mom, dad and of course his big sister he finally pulled it out. Now he is awaiting his first visit from the tooth fairy.

More snow
pictures....

The First Snow in North Carolina This Year!

On Friday it started snowing at 12:00, and schools were dismissed 3 hours early. The flakes grew larger and larger as the day progressed.
Within an hour the snow was starting to stick. After 24 hours of snow/freezing rain the system moved to the north. We ended up with between 5-6 inches of snow. Katherine and Ethan enjoyed sledding, and drinking hot chocolate. Stella, Cassidy, Alex and Mia all enjoyed sledding with my kids. Ethan helped Mia and Alex build a snowman. Ethan helped Alex learn how to make snowballs and have his first snowball fight. I loved seeing the winter wonderland, but I am ready for the roads to be clear. It would be nice if some of the snow stuck around until Christmas, just not on the roads.

Thanksgiving Pictures... a little late!

For Thanksgiving we went to Spartanburg and had dinner with Nathan's mom and family. The kids enjoyed playing with their cousins. I enjoyed spending time with my two wonderful sister-in-laws and my mother-in law. I can't wait to see them again at Christmas. Here are a few pictures from Thanksgiving.

Cheersport Cheerleading Competition Nov. 22, 2009

On Sunday Katherine and the rest of GAC competed in the Cheersport competition. This was the first official competition of the season. Katherine competed on 2 different teams and as soon as she finished competing with one team she went back back to warm up for the other team. Katherine's Youth 2 team (Y2) came in 3rd place. After seeing the scores they only missed 1st place by 3 points, so it was very close. Katherine's other team Jr. Pink came in 2nd. I was very pleased with her performance. Go GAC!! As a mother that did band and musicals in high school never thought her daughter would be interested in cheerleading, but she is and she is good at it. I have learned more about this extremely athletic in the past year for my daughter. These girls are true athletes and need to be cleared of the streotype of "cheerleaders" that some people still give them.

Reflections
2009

Ethan and Katherine both won on Friday for the school level Reflections. Katherine created a dance to go with the song Party in the USA. Ethan composed a song (short and sweet) . She wrote song in C minor for the Bass Cleff. He even wrote it on sheet music, put the correct notes. Both students perfromed and had it recoreded for the competition. Thanks to Uncle Steve to videotaping and making the DVD's. They both compete in January for the county level.

Happy Birthday Nathan!

Today Nathan celebrated his birthday. We started the day as a typical Friday the 13th. Nathan came to read to Ethan's 1st grade class and then had lunch with both Katherine and Ethan. He took Katherine home and had a special afternoon with his daughter watching movies. After school Ethan and I finished our birthday shopping before going home. We had a nice dinner, yummy ganache cake and a relaxing evening. I hope you had a great day Nathan!

Halloween !!!!

Ethan was Kevin Youkilis for Halloween. His favorite Red Sox
baseball player. Katherine was a 70's go-go dancer. Don't worry,
she didn't really die her hair, but she did look cute as a blond.
